Chatfield Public Library Friends of the Library Meeting

Thursday, March 22, 2022

6:30 p.m.

The meeting was held in the upstairs of the library with Mimi Seamens, Susan Gossman, Pastor Debra Collum, Pat Karver and Karen Greenslade present.

The treasurers’ report was given by Susan. Savings account at Root River State Bank as of 12/31/21 was 2,036.35.  Checking account at same bank as of 2/28/2022 was 2,844.56. There will be money coming from Thrivent (176.00) and Smile (25.96). We talked about our general income from 2021. With 500.00 from Mike S., 630.00 from Western Days Book Sale, 487.00 from Bingo and a 50.00 Donation post book sale.  A review of the year was given by Susan.

Old Business: BINGO-Discussion was held on whether to again commit to the Thursdays in the month of July. No decision was made and it was tabled until our April meeting with the suggestion we look at our calendars for availability on July 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th.  We need 2 workers for each date. BOOK SALE-Discussion held on this one time event and it is not scheduled for 2022. HAYDEN MEMORIAL GIFT PREFERRED TOWARDS OUTDOOR PLANTERS-Working with Monica, our librarian, on this task and would like to give Teresa Hayden an update soon.  We also discussed that the friends could also contribute to this if needed.

New Business-Unanimous vote to again donate $1000.00 to the Summer Reading program.  Christy is looking to include something for adults as well.  Last year 3 programs were paid by the legacy fund.  Mission: Joy a documentary will be presented on March 31st in the basement.

Secretary of State Office shows us as inactive! But that will be corrected as soon as possible.  The log in process has been challenging.  Susan reported better results at the Federal level.

GiveMN.org was discussed.
